From 4 Days/3 Nights to 3 Days/2 Nights: The ascent of Mt Wilhelm is a strenuous yet non‑technical climb. Journey from Mt Hagen through the fertile Wahgi Valley and Simbu Gorge to Keglsugl, then trek to Piunde Lakes base camp at 11,700 feet. Enjoy alpine grasslands, glacial lakes, waterfalls, or hike to the WW2 B17 bomber wreck. For summit seekers, a pre‑dawn ascent rewards you with sunrise views across the north coastline and surrounding valleys.
