CULTURAL FESTIVAL TOURS 

 

Detailed Itinerarys

Day 1

Arrive in to Port Moresby on PX flight, upon arrival meet and transfer to hotel for one night accommodation in Port Moresby. After check inn in your hotel, half day Port Moresby city tour in a private car with driver guide, tour including National Museum, Parliament house Hanuabada Village (Costal Village), Kokoi market, Paga hill lookout, National Botanical Gardens and drop off at your hotel

 

Day 2

Transfer by your guide from hotel to domestic terminal for your departure to Tari on flight PX 864 @ 09:40 am. Now you arrive into Tari airstrip and you will meet by local guide, transfer to lodge for your accommodation.

 

Day 3

Full day tour to Tari valley with the guide for Spirit Dance performance, traditional fluid playing the spiritual meditation song, and the song of engaging the spirit. After the tour of Spirit Dance back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch tour to heart of Tari valley visit widow mother with her daughter dressing and her house surrounded with beautiful primitive gardens.

 

Day 4

Full day tour with the local guide to visit home of the famous Huli Wig collected from human hairs and Huli Wigmen, fainting face, dressing, and full sing sing performance. You will also be allowed to enter their home how they keep their furthers safely in the room. After tour back to the lodge.

 

Day 5

Transfer by vehicle from lodge to Tari airstrip for Mt. Hagen flight. Flight Tari/Mt. Hagen @ 11:30 pm. Up on arrival in Mt. Hagen the guide will meet you and transfer to Kumul Lodge for accommodation or Tari/Hagen road drive on 25 seated bus.

 

Day 6

Full day tour with the local guide drive to Tapula Village, at this village, experience crossing suspension bridge, Tapula rainforest habitat, drive down hill towards Paiyakona Vilage for mini traditional singsing. At this village, you have change to see the traditional fire making demonstration, Human skull, traditional ceremonial ground and temples,  men spirit house of pray, and traditional  mumu lunch will be provided in Tapula village chief’s house wind at the fast following  river bank, enjoy relax in a cool air and have traditional lunch. Day 7

This time you will drive out of your hotel early morning @07:00 am for the famous Mt. Hagen Traditional Show, be there early because the fainting of their faces and decorations will be started at 07:00 am. It’s not only for Mt. Hagen people but all other cities will be participating in this show. It is an opportunity to see different tribal groups at the one gathering place and camera films will be running out. Make sure have more camera films. The lunch will be provided inside the show arena by your local guide.  Accommodation at Kumul Lodge. 

 

Day 8

Full day at the Mt. Hagen Traditional show ground with packed lunch and the prices will be awarded to the dancers accordingly to their performance by the judges of the show committee members. Kumul Lodge.

 

Day 9

Transfer Kumul lodge guided trek to PNG’s highest mountain. Depart Mt. Hagen or Goroka by 4WD vehicle to Keglsugl via Pari burial caves. On arrival, afternoon tour of Betty’s Trout farm, bird watching at nearby forests. Overnight at Betty’s Lodge

 

Day 10

Early morning after breakfast, trek/climb to Base Camp. Afternoon explore the lakes PiundeYaundo, nature, flora and fauna. Overnight at the A FRAME Hut.

 

Day 11

Early morning, pre-dawn climb from base camp up to the summit. Enjoy sunrise at the top and magnificent views before returning to Base Camp for overnight at A FRAME Hut or to Keglsul at Betty’s Lodge

 

Day 12

Depart Keglsugl and take breathtaking scenery drive through gorges, fast flowing rivers, alpine forests and grasslands to Mt. Hagen or Goroka, End of Mt. Wilhelm Trek

 

Day 13

Road drive tour on selected view points and visit villages along the way to Goroka. Goroka accommodation at Pacific Gardens.

 

 

Day 14

After breakfast full day tour, famous Asaro mudmen village including cultural activities traditional mumu lunch at the mudmen village. After lunch tour J.K MacCarthy Musuem and visit surrounding villages.

 

Day 15

On road drive with local guide Goroka to Madang. Stop over beautiful view points and visit villages along the road until arrive in to Madang. Over night Madang International Hotel.

 

Day 16

After breakfast morning tour of south coast villages of madang including Bilbil village for pottery making demonstration, Birdwing butterfly farming, ell fish feeding in the natural habitat and back in town visit Haus Tumbuna (museum) coastwatchers light house.

Morning flight Madang/Port Moresby and transfer to Overseas flight.
